ME?! i was the first person of all the people i know in real life to join (thanks to this link up!!)

hello lovelies!

happy friday and all that good stuff.

you know valentines day is coming up right? no, you didn't?! wellll let me just let you know that there is a day coming when all is right in the world and everyone loves everyone else, and mostly shows their love with chocolates, flowers and something sparkly.

right.

for real, my favorite memory from the last few valentines days was mine last year and that was because i got cards from my little munchkins.

want to feel special during all major holidays and on your birthday? work with kids. that's my tip of the day for you.

anyway..I have the BEST giveaway for valentines day.

and everyone can enter it: single, taken, no worries i won't judge.

for one night, and ONE NIGHT ONLY I am giving away a date withhhhhh

{ drumroll pleaseeeeeee}

dundndundudundunnnnnn (those are my drum noises)

.

while i wait let me toss up some pics of my little binkaroo otherwise known to the rest of the world as drew, andrew, spanish, taz, tazzo,
and "your hot brother"
(yeah friends of mine, you know who you are)

meet: my brother, Andrew

isn't he so dapper?

this is him in his "casual" look

some pros of winning a date with my brother:

he has a LOT of friends

he can make you a drink, and serve it with a smile

he laughs a lot

if you had babies together, they'd look like this. how can you not love that face?!

here's a preview of what he'll look like in 35 years: still handsome!

he can make his hair do this. do i need to explain how awesome that is?

he likes kids

kids like him

he looks nice in pictures

he likes to travel and be adventurous

he's loves him some america.

he has some good dance moves
( he knows these ladies, theyre all friends, not random strangers)

he enjoys food

he takes pictures like this

but best of all you can be friends with me!!

no but seriously. my {little} brother is my best friend. he's super smart. he's 25. he's getting his masters in teaching. he's really funny. people know him everywhere he goes. he can make people believe anything he says. he goes to the gym every day but isn't a meathead. people love him. he'll bring you flowers if that's your thing. he makes really good chili. he tells this really good joke about kansas city, and another one about grapes. he can move heavy things. he plays soccer. he has good hair. he wears nice clothes. he usually smells nice. he speaks spanish. he might even be president one day. he's one of the good ones.  my list of amazing things about him is never ending....so i'll just cut myself off here.

sooo. wanna win a date with him?

leave me a fabulous comment as to why and i'll pick a winner :)

*okay, okay, this may or may not be a real contest..because he lives in new york and you all live everywhere else in the world...but if you do, or you happen to know someone who might want to meet him and see what happens, well then seriously leave me a comment and i'll work some magic*

or just leave me a comment anyway. you know i love them!

alright enjoy your weekend lovebugs, xo

it's ok.

Its Ok Thursdays

linking up with these lovelies { neely & amber }

today for another it's ok thursday

whooop, i'm excited and it's been awhile since i linked up for this party :)

it's ok...

... that i was going to make myself a proper meal for lunch, but then decided on one of my favorite comfort foods from when i was little: a bagel, sliced, with melted mozzarella cheese. yum. made in under a min zapping it in the microwave. win.

...that i don't want to pay to get my hair done so im going to be a little risky and highlight my own hair tonight. wish me luck.

...im a little obsessed with my leopard print nails (thanks sally hansen stick ons) even when my dad and brother both made fun of me when they saw them

...to have never watched american idol ever until now. and i kinda love it.

...to feel like i've been on vacation the last few weeks, since i haven't been working

...that now that i have a start date for my first day of work, i kinda wish i had more time off.

...to sleep late, and stay up late. just because i can.

...to LOVE the crunching machine at the gym. because it makes me feel productive.

...to feel more inspired on the elliptical when i have some sassy music playing on my ipod...like bachata...or 50 cent. yeah.

.... to spray paint everything i can with this shiny copper metallic paint i got because i feel pinterest inspired. my glue gun and i are taking on the craft world.

...to really, really want to be one of those online dating success stories. except it would be much better if 45 year old guys stopped messaging me creepy messages. and...other creepy guys  my age stopped sending me creepy messages.

... to want to message said guys and give them a heads up that they sound like they kidnap people in shady vans on the regular. and the picture of your car doesnt impress me. neither does the pic of you and your abs in the mirror, in your bathroom. don't you have normal pictures? with friends doing things? or friends to take normal pictures of you? i don't understand.

and...that's all folks.

happy thursday!!

p.s. i had no idea it WAS thursday until i saw all the "it's ok" posts on my blogger feed.

ohhh life.

sometimes & always

linking up with the lovely megan at mackey madness cause goodness knows i adore link ups :)

sometimes: i try to use some fancy slang i learned somewhere
(and then looked up on urbandictionary.com) cause...that's whats up. word.

always: then i hear people  say "thebomb{dot}com" (thanks toddlers & tiaras) and realise how ridiculous i probably sound when i say "fiening" or some other such nonsense. word up.

sometimes: i want my hair to grow really long, like til it reaches my butt or something.

always: i forget that i want it to be long, and chop it off when im having a bad day

sometimes: i tell myself that finding a guy is not really that important for me right now.

always: i spend hours window shopping different guys profiles online, the same way i shop for a new dress or for some shoes.

sometimes: i think maybe i should get a 9-5 doing something in an office

always: i remember that it's okay to try out a bunch of things, as long as i find something that makes me happy. (and i can pay my bills)
whats that quote? Find something you love to do and you'll never have to work a day in your life.
that's me, on a constant mission

sometimes: i dread going to the gym. the sweating, the jiggling parts, the..other people.

always: once i'm there, jamming out to my music, i feel so much better about myself.

worst. blind. date. ...or at least super awkward.

Valentine’s Day Challenge

hello, hello lovebugs!!

i'm linking up today with neely, amber & casey for their

{ fabulous valentines challenge }

Today's Topic is:
WORST DATE EVER
So... i've only been on a few blind dates with people who didnt end up being my boyfriend ( i usually find one through hanging out with friends, and then they think im cute and therefore become my boyfriend....or something like that) but the ones i did happen to survive to tell about have made me dread dating all over again.
should i tell you about the most recent one i went on when my "friend" told me this guy was really good looking, really smart and totally my type...
cut to when i met him: he was missing his front tooth, told me he has just checked out of a rehab...two weeks before because of a mental breakdown and substance abuse issues, and that he felt we really had a spiritual connection and could "really turn into something", and would i like to go smoke with him after bc he just bought a fresh dime bag. no thank you.
OR
how about  i tell you about my very favorite awful blind date that
i had no idea was actually a date
i was in college and on an "off again" period with the guy i was always seeing, even when i wasnt. randomly, an alumni from his fraternity had just "friended" practically every single person i knew, so we started messaging back and forth because that was back when although i did accept every friend request i got, i wanted to know about this guy.
after a few days, he mentioned he was going to be in town and would i like to get together and grab dinner?
well, see keep in mind that i thought this was just a friendly thing, because i was in college and had a lot of guy friends so grabbing dinner with one of them wasn't ever suspicious to me.
anyway, remember how i said it was during an "off again" period? so my thinking, which was then further clarified by my friends, was that if my off again guy found out i was hanging out with someone else he'd come to his senses and realize how much he wanted to be with me. right. and it would do me some good  to meet other guys. ok sure.
so we make plans, he's going to pick me up from my house after an event at school and we'd go grab dinner.
red flag #1: he looked nothing like his facebook picture. NOTHING. im talking it must've been a picture from ten years ago.
i wanted to grab a slice or something casual...you know, because it wasn't a date.
we went to the cheesecake factory.
he talked about how he really was looking for a relationship, come into town a lot, what was i looking for in a relationship and how i could do better than my off again guy.
i kept talking about how great it was to make a new friend.
i tried to pay for my food, go dutch and whatnot but he wouldn't let me.

he mentioned he'd like to stick around for the night, make plans for after dinner...i mentioned that i wasnt feeling well and would probably stay home for then night...
(because im a big liar pants and had plans to go to a big party that night with my girlfriends)

anyhow, then he drove me back to my place where I planned on saying goodnight, great meeting you, thanks for dinner and running inside...

but he parked and got out and walked me to the door
(i know, i know, that's sweet, i just wasnt into it)

again he mentioned not having plans for the rest of the night and maybe we could hang out at my house, where again i said i wasnt feeling well so i was just going to stay home alone...so then he leaned in to kiss me goodnight which i was trying to avoid...
...and i was saved by my roommate who threw the front door open and said "yay youre home, ready to go to the party?!"

cricket.cricket.

i gave her the look and said
"party? no, im not feeling well, byeeeeee insert blind dates name here  thanks, i had fun!"
and ran inside.

i felt like a big tool. and the he texted me to say he had a great time and would love to see me again. wompwompwompppp.

was this the WORST blind date ever? no. but it was super awkward, i had no idea it was a date, andddd he tricked me with his profile picture. no fair.

p.s. i went to the party anyway, saw his friends who all asked how my date was because he had told them all we were going on one. fail.

join the link up and share your own blind date stories, because really...it's funny to read other peoples and be glad they didnt happen to you, haha :)
